About us

PowerHouse Latvia is an analytics and advisory group operating at the intersection of geopolitics, public sentiment, individual behaviour and strategic decision-making.

Founded in 2023 by political scientists Martins Vargulis (PhD cand.) and Martins Daugulis (PhD), the company was established to help leaders, institutions, and organisations understand how political and societal dynamics shape business, investment, and policy outcomes.

Drawing on complementary expertise, PowerHouse Latvia combines rigorous geopolitical analysis with deep insight into social behaviour and public discourse. While Mr. Daugulis brings a background in social anthropology and political science, Mr. Vargulis contributes extensive experience in international security and cooperation gained through work with international organisations. Together, they built a platform that translates complex political and societal developments into actionable strategic guidance.

PowerHouse Latvia was founded on the belief that politics is not a background factor, but a primary driver of risk, opportunity, and decision-making. Our “politics-first” approach ensures that strategy is grounded in an accurate understanding of power relations, public perception, and institutional dynamics. We are committed to delivering analysis that is objective, independent, and rooted in real-world experience.

Our work focuses on Latvia and the Baltic region, while remaining fully applicable to broader international contexts. We support our partners through geopolitical risk assessment, public sentiment and narrative analysis, resilience and crisis preparedness, data-driven communication, and strategic advisory. Across all engagements, our core purpose is to help clients move from complexity and uncertainty to informed action and long-term strategic positioning.

In addition to its founders, PowerHouse Latvia is supported by a multidisciplinary team of analysts and practitioners with backgrounds in political science, sociology, data analysis, communication, and policy advisory. These experts are engaged across projects to ensure depth of analysis, methodological rigor, and practical relevance, allowing us to tailor our work to the specific context and needs of each partner.
